Experience

After 5 years in IT, I found a great opportunity to explore the world of game development. I was always interested in games and their ability to create amazing experiences. My experience in IT has helped me excel at quickly learning new software, problem solving, and communication with clients and teammates. I love being able to work in an artistic field with a technical edge and develop new tools that help artists achieve their best potential.

NSF REU: GIS for Disaster Resilience Spatial Thinking
May 2019 - August 2019

At the Rochester Institute of Technology, I developed a pipeline to translate geospatial data into a 3D environment in Unity. We used this method to make Navigate Disaster; a strategy game where the player is an emergency manager during a natural disaster similar to Hurricane Harvey. I recreated the Greater Galveston, TX area to a near 1:1 scale and used other GIS datasheets to design gameplay. This project proved that GIS could be used to accurately recreate real world environments in a game space.
